About Me
I grew up in Burnley, Lancashire in the North West of England. I’ve always been interested in art as a small child, growing up disabled it didn’t leave me with much else to do. I've been disabled since I had an accident at 4 years old that left me in I wheelchair for going on 13 year. I started drawing to pass time and keep my mind busy as there was not a lot I could do back then. Video games were the likes of pacman and such and the internet or Netflix hadn't been invented yet. Drawing cartoon characters like Mickey Mouse and characters from the Dandy comic or Beano comics was how I started. I grew to love how it would sweep me away from all the troubles life can throw at you. Me, my brothers and our cousins would sit around our Grandparents kitchen table and draw the characters for hours, we even tried to come up with our own.
Today I still often think of those times around the kitchen table with my cousins and brothers and I still have the love for the creative process. I still draw with pencil as I don’t think I’ll ever change, I’m old school I guess.
Being a self taught artist I’m still learning and think I always will be (that’s part of the fun). As far as inspiration goes I guess it’s just life itself, and you. There is no greater form of art than that of the human form. If I see something like a colour, a shape or a person, I draw it then see what I can come up with and more often then not they seem to create them self’s as I go along.
I hope you enjoy my art as much as I enjoy creating them and I hope you find something you like, something that will bring you joy in the years to come.
